ABOUT
Hello! I'm Kanthi.
I'm from North Andover, MA, and am a freshman at Cornell University majoring in Environment & Sustainability with a concentration in Sustainable Business and Environmental Economics and with possible minors in Entrepreneurship and Business. So far, I have been loving my classes as I have been exploring the interconnection between business and the environment. I am currently in the process of applying for summer internships in the fields of sustainability, consulting, and business.
During my free time, I like doing yoga, walking my dog, working out, and spending time with my friends. I also love dancing and have been learning Indian Classical Dance for the past 14 years at Triveni School of Dance. During these years I have learned three styles of dance: Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. Last semester, I joined Cornell Nazaqat and have been learning Kathak.

Last semester, I joined Cornell Sustainability Consultants. I am currently an associate consultant on the Sustainable Chambers of Commerce sub-team. Last semester, I worked closely with team members in researching and preparing a business sustainability toolkit which we plan on distributing to local businesses. Our goal as a sub-team is to help local companies that are eager to craft and work on sustainability goals and initiatives.
I have been a part of Cornell Nazaqat, Cornell University’s kathak-fusion dance team. It has been such a wonderful experience learning an Indian classical dance style I hadn't practiced before my involvement in this group!
Recently, I got elected for and promoted as the Social Chair. I look forward to organizing events throughout the semester for team bonding including dinners, retreats, hikes, and more!
Over the past few years, I have been working to expand my non-profit work. ENVIORG is a non-profit with a mission to inspire and motivate change by using education to advance environmental literacy among students and work to create a sustainable future. To learn more about my work, visit ENVIORG.
Last spring I graduated from the Bala Vihar and language programs at Chinmaya Mission, in Andover, MA.
I love learning about spirituality through Hindu scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita. Through the language program, I mastered Telugu fluency.
